A customer sampling for the EPA hit a common snag. He needed to sample over logs that had fallen roughly in line with the water flow. Submerged logs are home to many creatures adept at eluding the traditional net. Our “inverted D-frame design” helped this customer scrape and scoop right over the log!

The snag net has most of the features that have made our nets famous. It sports a canvas bottom for protection, 3/8” (10 mm) thick stainless steel ring, and a 1-1/4” diameter, removable hardwood handle. It sweeps smoothly over logs up to 8” (0.2 m) or 14” (0.35 m) in diameter. Its 500 μm Nitex® mesh net, with internal rope reinforcement, grips the frame with hog rings. Cod end size is 2-1/8”.

Like most of our nets, you can mix and match. The basic snag net sampler includes net, frame and two-piece 60” wooden handle. Our “kit” is ready to go with Dolphin™ bucket and adaptor.
