SL500 (1.5 to 120-m range)
Major improvements were made to the SL500 when it was changed from an aluminum housing
to a molded plastic housing, and when the vertical beam was added. The newest version of the
SL500 goes a step further with a superior version of the molded plastic casing that reduces its
weight by a factor of four (24 to 6 lbs) from the original version. Additionally, many ergonomic
features were added to the mechanical design to facilitate installation and transportation. The
new SonTek TrueCompass/Tilt sensor is incorporated as a standard feature.
