AMS Step Probe is a easy way to collect shallow soil samples
The built-in step allows additional pressure to be used to drive the probe. These nickel plated probes are available as either a one-piece or as a two-piece probe. Both offer a 10" comfortably gripped cross handle, but the cross handles on the two-piece models are detachable with a 5/8" threaded connection and a 1" OD. Both are made of heavy wall type 4130 chrome molybdenum steel with hardened tips that cut a soil core 1/2" diameter by about 12" long.
